GREEN LIGHT indicates that the vehicle is mechanically sound and considered a good vehicle. It indicates that there are no defects in the engine, transmission, or differential. Repairs for mechanical defects must not exceed $800.00.
For recreational vehicles, defects are limited solely to the engine, transmission, and differential. The vehicle must sell for at least $3,000.00 to qualify as a Green Light vehicle. If the vehicle is more than ten (10) years old (model year 2015 or older) or can be repaired for less than $800.00, it is not subject to arbitration. The vehicle must have 150,000 miles or less.
Any item that can be inspected prior to bidding, such as tires, physical damage, upholstery, glass, switches, air conditioning, etc., is not eligible for arbitration or sale cancellation. A vehicle may not be arbitrated or the sale canceled if the Buyer fails to determine whether the transmission is manual or automatic. Examine the vehicle carefully before bidding.
Green Light vehicles may be driven for one (1) hour after purchase to verify the engine and transmission. Any issues must be reported to the auction the same night of the sale. Frame damage, odometer discrepancies, and title discrepancies must be reported to the auction within seven (7) days from the date of sale.
YELLOW LIGHT means use caution and be sure you understand the announced conditions. It indicates that special conditions regarding the vehicle will be announced.
If you did not hear or understand the announcement, be sure to stop the auctioneer and ask before bidding. Some examples of Yellow Light conditions include, but are not limited to: defective transmission, Salvage title, frame damage, or odometer discrepancies. Any condition that could be arbitrated under a Green Light may not be arbitrated under a Yellow Light if that condition was announced.
RED LIGHT means use extreme caution when bidding on a Red Light vehicle. It indicates that the vehicle is sold “AS IS.” It may not be rejected or the sale canceled for any mechanical defect.
THERE IS NO TURNING BACK. THE VEHICLE IS YOURS.
Taxis, police vehicles, flood-damaged vehicles, and vehicles with frame damage must be announced and sold “AS IS.” Odometer discrepancies must be announced even if the vehicle is sold AS IS.
BLUE LIGHT indicates that the title is not present at the time of sale. The title must be received by the auction from the Seller within thirty (30) days.
If the title has not been received by the auction by midnight on the 30th day, the Buyer may return the vehicle. The Buyer must notify the auction prior to returning the vehicle. If the auction has not been notified that the vehicle will be returned, once the title is received, the title will be processed in the Buyer’s name. Once the title has been processed in the Buyer’s name, the vehicle may not be returned.
DO NOT SELL, DO NOT DRIVE EXCESSIVELY, DO NOT DAMAGE, AND DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE TITLE HAS BEEN RECEIVED. ANY MONEY SPENT ON A VEHICLE RETURNED DUE TO A MISSING TITLE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
